Katana – Maeda Nagatane 1060 High Carbon Steel

This meticulously crafted folded steel Katana adheres to the ancient Japanese art of sword-making. The razor-sharp blade undergoes a precise 13-fold forging process, creating an astonishing 8,192 layers. The distinctive grain structure is created with the repeated folding technique in the forging process. Our master craftsmen then subject the blade to a rigorous heat treatment, tempering, and oil quenching process to achieve the perfect softness and hardness balance. The blade is afterwards hand-polished carefully with increasingly finer sharpening stones to have a mirror finish.
