This Japanese sword is carefully crafted using traditional folding forging techniques. The blade is folded and forged 13 times to form a steel structure of up to 8,192 layers, which not only gives it excellent toughness and strength, but also presents a unique forging texture (ground texture) on the blade. The repeated folding and hammering of each layer of steel gives the blade excellent impact resistance and sharpness.

The blade undergoes professional heat treatment, tempering and oil quenching processes to ensure the perfect balance of hardness and flexibility. Finally, it is hand-ground by craftsmen and finely polished with multi-level whetstones to make the blade as bright as a mirror and sharp.
